To answer the Q you asked on my blog G.I. Joe is going to be an instructor for his unit's AT in June. He'll be at Fort Pickett. They are deploying after he leaves the unit. Where is your's going? Email me sometime at jmccown@liberty.edu. Maybe we're located in the same area!
I'm definitely going to be praying for the surgery. Lucy had a short 30 minute surgery when she was 11 months old. Its totally not the same but one thing I can understand is how scary anesthesia can be!
